Recycle Week 2025Now in its 22nd year, this national celebration of recycling is more than just a call to action, it’s a creative, community-driven movement aimed at transforming how we think about waste.

This year’s theme, “Rescue Me! Recycle”, builds on the success of 2024’s campaign, breathing new life into everyday items that often end up in the bin. By personifying commonly discarded recyclables—like foil, trigger sprays, and yoghurt pots—the campaign aims to make recycling more relatable and memorable. Characters such as Trigger the spray bottle, Deo the aerosol, and Hube the toilet roll tube serve as friendly reminders that these items deserve a second chance, not a landfill fate.

The campaign’s strength lies in its multi-channel approach. From social media activations and influencer partnerships to on-street events and educational toolkits, Recycle Week 2025 is designed to reach people, businesses, and local authorities alike. Despite 88% of UK households regularly recycling, WRAP’s Recycling Tracker reveals that 57% still miss items that could be recycled at the kerbside, and 87% recycle items that aren’t accepted. This gap highlights the need for clearer guidance and more engaging education, precisely what Recycle Week aims to deliver.

Beyond awareness, the campaign fosters community pride and corporate responsibility. Businesses are encouraged to align with the initiative, showcasing their commitment to sustainability while empowering employees to make small, impactful changes like recycling office supplies or packaging.

Recycle Week 2025 is not just about bins and bottles, it’s about rethinking our relationship with resources and a reminder that every item rescued from the rubbish is a step toward a more circular economy. Whether you're a household, a brand, or a council, this week is your chance to be part of a national movement that proves recycling isn’t just good, it’s essential.
