In the ever-changing world of tech I asked AI, why do we celebrate World FM day? It’s response, ‘World FM Day is celebrated to recognise the essential work of Facilities Management (FM) professionals and their contributions to maintaining and improving the built environment.’
But what it doesn’t say is who those facilities management professionals are and what really is at the core of why they wake up every day and maintain the infrastructure for their organisation. They are essentially people who really care! They fundamentally are there to make everyone happy and safe in their working lives, so that their occupiers can do the best job possible. It certainly isn’t a profession that is easy. You can’t turn away from the daily challenges of complaints and demands which can make our FM’s the unsung heroes of resilience and strength.
I have been blessed to work with hundreds of amazing FM’s who have helped to shape and develop my career. I celebrate today, the people who make change and growth possible, the people who see technology not as the enemy but as the enabler, the people who show resilience like none other dealing with their daily challenges.
Today I celebrate you the FM, the friend and colleague who continues to support Assurity Consulting in our mission to make the working world safe. Today I celebrate you the FM and I say “thank you!”.
