This followed a safety report last year from the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) concerning the Conen Motorised Display Wall Mount/SCETAW.

The HSE safety notice identified ‘a serious risk of injury’ with ‘use of the motorised height adjustment controls by unauthorised and untrained persons (including children and other vulnerable persons) can lead to the equipment hitting objects and or becoming unstable. There is also a risk of crushing between the bottom edge of the display screen (or its mounting frame) and any fixed object.’

With new terms starting all over the country and new classes in new classrooms, this might be a good time, if you haven’t already, to check what you have in place and how safe it is.
