IOSH Managing Safely – Open Course for Independent Schools

It equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage workplace risks, promote a positive safety culture, and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. It also lends itself to reviewing knowledge of managing workplace health and safety responsibilities, whilst gaining a globally recognised qualification in health and safety. 

Developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the three-day course is suitable for managers and supervisors in all industries and sectors, and we are running an open course for independent school employees on the following dates:

  • Thursday 19th March 2026 - 09:00 -16:00
  • Friday 27th March 2026 - 09:00 -16:00
  • Tuesday 31st March 2026 - 09:00 -13:00

Christ’s Hospital School have kindly agreed to host the course, provide lunch and refreshments, and welcome other independent school delegates, so the course will focus on independent school environments and activities.

The cost to attend is £500 per person excl VAT and will include the IOSH workbook, certificate and lunches.

The course will be run by Mireille Stocker, Director of Learning and Development. Mireille is a Chartered Member of IOSH and is listed on the national register of Occupational Safety and Health Consultants. She has been delivering IOSH courses for over 6 years and has always used her in-house experience as a consultant, manager, our health and safety services leader and latterly the manager responsible for all our health and safety services. She has over 27 years in the health and safety profession, in-house and as a consultant.
