I joined Assurity Consulting in September 2019 as a Consultant, after studying a Masters in Sustainability at the University of Southampton.
Since I first started in 2019, I have trained in a number of services and in June 2022, I qualified as a Senior Consultant. I began by delivering our Workplace Environmental Assessments, and now carry out Legionella risk assessments, as well as being part of our Environmental team, delivering Environmental Management Reviews and Compliance assessments, as well as Waste and F Gas Management Reviews. Assurity Consulting funds my membership with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and has supported me in completing the BSI 14001 Understanding the Standard course and the ISO14001 Lead Auditor Course. These qualifications and memberships aren’t something I would have necessarily attained by myself, so it’s a great opportunity to have had.
I really enjoy the range of services I deliver, as this makes my role very varied. I never feel like I’m just writing the same report over and over again, and every week is different. From visiting sites all over the country, to holding meetings with our different customers and managing their accounts – no two days are the same. I manage Assurity Consulting’s largest contract, which involves maintaining good relationships and consulting on areas of compliance that they require support with.
For me the best part about working at Assurity Consulting is the people. Everyone is really friendly and supportive, and there is always someone to go to if you have a question - which goes a long way. There are also great benefits to the role, from starting on 25 days holiday from the get-go, to the different social events the company puts on where we can all get together and have some fun. There’s great focus on employee wellbeing and it’s a great company to work for.
