At Assurity Consulting, we understand the importance of the wellbeing of our employees, so we focus on collaborative events in and around the office, all aimed at making work life enjoyable and supportive for everyone.
Over the last 8 months, we’ve held events ranging from a pub quiz to a Belgian waffle cart, ice-cream vans, an Escape Room, and wellbeing walks. We want to give everyone the opportunity to get involved, so we try to provide as much variety as possible.
In February, six employees attend an Escape Room at Tulley’s Farm. The team tested their problem-solving skills and worked in a team to almost escape the room! As they didn’t quite make it out, they devised a plan to attend in their own time, and they were delighted to complete the game and escape! Well done to Jamie I, Alex M, April, Sophia, Mike and Adam C!
In January and July, we held meetings inviting all our employees to a review of the business, and gave our team lunch at the Roffey Park Institute, another great way for motivating our team and updating them on the business and for time out to socialise together.
In March, we held a pub quiz at Horsham Football Club, we had a great evening with a delicious bangers and mash dinner. Mike was our Quiz Master and Greg, renowned for entertaining quizzes kindly put it together for us. The teams got quite competitive, and it was a fun evening outside of the office. The winners were – Pseudo Moaners – Giuseppe, Alex W, Sophia, William and Jamie I.
For a team social and to reward our employees for the hard work that they do, we treated them to a Belgian Waffle Cart in June (the weather wasn’t on our side so we had to serve in the office!). Employees got to pick from six different sauces and toppings to go on top of the waffles, including Biscoff, Oreo and Nutella!
‘Assurity Consulting Sport Days’ were held throughout August, a fun and competitive series of games that took place every Friday lunch for three weeks! We had events such as the egg and spoon race, bean bag tossing, ring toss, bean bag balance and football scoring! All the events boosted morale, gave people the opportunity to learn a new skill, and the events added some fun to the workday! Some employees did need a bit of encouragement to join in, but when they did, they really enjoyed the events in the sunshine!
To support the environment in Horsham, we took a team of employees who used their make a difference day (a paid day each employee has annually to support a charity of their choice) to support the Huxley’s Bird of Prey Centre. The team revamped the visitor benches with a fresh coat of paint and dug trenches, to lay some new pipework to further extend their irrigation system. They were lucky enough to hold some of the birds and see some bird displays throughout the day. A team also spent a day at Springboard, a local charity for children, volunteering their time to install insultation boards into a large storage cupboard (aka Narnia), and sort through and tidy a ‘mound’ of games and toys stored in there! Our make a difference day scheme is great for team building, and they are heartwarming days to support charities who lack time, funds and resources within our local community.
