Assurity Consulting Supports Local Education

Tanbridge House School

On July 10th, Julie our Financial Controller attended Tanbridge House School for a Mock Interview Day for the students. She spent the day with the Year 10 students who, as part of the PSHE (Personal, Social & Health Education) curriculum, create CVs and covering letters to apply for job roles available on the Unifrog careers library. These roles can vary from a Barista to an Engineer!

Each volunteer is assigned students to ‘interview’ for a role, and Clover Maguire, Careers Coordinator for the school provided interview guidance and employer volunteer briefing notes, together with CVs and covering letters for each of the students. This gave the volunteers the opportunity to review the CVs and letters prior to the interview process and provide feedback on any improvements or adjustments or in some cases, congratulations if they provided an excellent CV and covering letter that needed little improvement. Julie commented, “I interviewed seven students on the day with the event finishing at about 13:30 – each interview was very different, but it gave me the opportunity to give them advice on what A Levels to consider for their chosen career. Although it was so very hot in the room (so students were allowed to wear their PE kit), some of the students actually arrived dressed for an interview – on such a hot day, I was super impressed. Another wonderful day – such a pleasure to see young people and guide them to believe that they can achieve more than they think. I’m looking forward to participating in the event again next year”

Clover Maguire, Careers Coordinator, Tanbridge House School said, “We watched very quiet and nervous children enter the room and then leave with huge grins of pride on their faces. The conversations heard around the room were both constructive, kind, and full of advice for next steps. The contribution of local businesses like Assurity Consulting could have a lasting impact on the lives of many young people within our school community. We thank you whole heartedly for volunteering with us this year.”

Hazelwick School

Shelly, Senior Customer Administration Coordinator and Ciara, Marketing Coordinator, attended a Careers Fair at Hazelwick School in Crawley. Where they met with students aged 11 – 17 to share their career insights, talk about career pathways and to answer their questions!

“It was great to speak with so many different students, discussing what career they would like to pursue in the future and also sharing what a future in consultancy would look like.” – Ciara Martin, Marketing Coordinator

The College of Richard Collyer

On July 7th Kim Senior attended The College of Richard Collyer ‘Challenge of Management Day’ at South Lodge. The event is designed to enhance students' transferable employability skills through practical, team-based activities. The students worked in teams, guided by experienced Business Advisors, to tackle various tasks that are commonly encountered in the recruitment process. This hands-on approach provided the students with valuable insights into the world of work, helping them understand the skills and strategies needed to succeed in a professional environment.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for attending Challenge of Management Day yesterday! Overall, it felt like the day went really well and the students gained so much from the experience – the room certainly felt buzzing by the time we got to the Lego production challenge! The generous sponsorship from Assurity Consulting was very much appreciated, please pass on our thanks to those who decide where to allocate financial support.” Rebecca Adams, Director of Personal Development, The College of Richard Collyer.
