What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It helps our business to improve environmental our performance continuously. We can demonstrate to our customers our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, achieving regulatory compliance, and promoting sustainability. The standard covers various aspects, such as resource usage, waste management, and compliance with environmental regulations.
Our EMS is fully implemented, including staff training and conducting internal audits to identify and address any potential issues.
I’m pleased to say that we have successfully completed a recertification audit for our ISO 14001 certification, continuing our success in maintaining the standard. This was an Assurity Consulting team effort in maintaining the management system. Thank you to all involved.

What happens during the process of ISO 14001 recertification?
During the audit the auditor conducts a thorough examination of our EMS, including interviews with employees, and reviews of records and procedures, to verify that the EMS is effectively implemented and maintained.
After the audit, the auditor provides a report detailing their findings. This report includes any non-conformities (areas where the EMS does not meet ISO 14001 requirements), and opportunities for improvement in the audit report – zero non-conformities for us on this recertification! This involves implementing corrective actions and providing evidence that these actions have been completed within four weeks to be recertified. The certificate is valid for three years, but regular surveillance audits are carried out usually annually to make sure of ongoing compliance.
What does it mean to hold ISO 14001?
By holding ISO 14001 it demonstrates to our customers that we are committed to our environmental responsibility, and that we have consistent quality and reliability in our processes, and that we are that actively working to reduce our environmental footprint.
