While the information required to make a report will not change, something that will is the automatic email sent back to you once the report is submitted will no longer happen. Instead, there will be an opportunity for you to download a copy of the completed form at the point you submit the report.

RIDDOR (The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013) has been a longstanding requirement for employers and others - self-employed and people in control of work premises to report more serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specific dangerous occurrences. As the HSE also advise:

“These reports simply let the relevant enforcing authority know that an incident has occurred, so they can identify where and how risks arise, and whether they need to be investigated. This allows the enforcing authorities to prioritise their work helping dutyholders understand what they need to do to manage risk in the workplace. For guidance on what, and how, to report.”

Let’s hope no one is having to 'click to download completed forms' too often.
