Laura Mintram 2015 avatarI have been with Assurity Consulting since October 2015 and am currently competent to deliver Workplace Environmental Assessments and Food Safety Assessments. I have been given endless opportunities as have other Consultants, and it is up to you to put yourself forward. I have attended the Facilities Show at the Excel to represent the company for three days and have also had the fantastic opportunity to learn another service which has been really interesting and enjoyable.

For me, the best thing about working for Assurity Consulting is the flexibility and trust given as a Consultant. I am not micro-managed, but my manager and deputy manager are only on the end of the phone should I need them. Also, the opportunity for continuous personal development is something which is rare in a lot of companies. The company will support you to develop and grow as much as you want to as long as you work hard and maintain a positive attitude. I find it really rewarding meeting new people all the time and helping companies improve their working environment. I also love the flexibility of the job, you are trusted to do your work when works best for you, in order to maintain a work-life balance. One day you could be working for 8 hours on site but the next you could be working from home writing reports.

I have learnt far too much throughout my time here to write in one paragraph! The three month training induction increased my knowledge of the bacteria associated with water, legal workplace compliance and different air systems, just to name a few aspects of the job. I have also developed my interpersonal skills, report writing and time management. You must manage your time and prioritise work which is an essential skill in any job. I have also learnt a lot about myself which is invaluable. I have definitely developed technical skills for the site work and my interpersonal skills continue to develop when meeting a variety of different people.
