The event saw 30 teams take part to swim as many lengths as possible within a 55 minute time slot. Assurity Consulting entered team ‘Doggy Paddlers’ who swam a record breaking 194 lengths!
The event raised a fantastic total of £15837.01 of which a whopping £9162.17 went towards Chestnut Tree House whilst the remaining went to a variety of different charities.
Assurity Consulting, alongside the Horsham Lions, presented the cheque to Jayne Todd, Community Fundraiser, at the hospice. Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice for Sussex and South East Hampshire and cares for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age. It currently costs well over £3.5m each year to provide all the care services provided by Chestnut Tree House and they rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
The team at the hospice was extremely grateful for the donation and they were amazed at how much the event had raised. The money will be put towards four new sofa beds to be used in children’s bedrooms, and throughout the hospice, for families to use when they stay with their children. Jayne commented, “We are so grateful to everyone involved in the Horsham Swimarathon. The event raised an incredible amount, which will make such a huge difference to the children and families we care for. As a charity, we rely heavily on the support of the local community and would like to thank the Horsham Lions Club, Assurity Consulting, and everyone involved for all their wonderful support.”
Assurity Consulting are delighted to have been the sponsors for the event and team Doggy Paddlers raised an impressive £1106.94. As one of Assurity Consulting’s charity partners, we look forward to supporting Chestnut Tree House in the future.
