There were three categories for our bakers to enter this year: cakes, savoury bakes and biscuits. On top of this we gave out a ‘Star Baker’ award to the best bake overall! All entries came incognito so that the judging was carried out fairly. We had lots of entries and they all looked amazing!

Tom S, Boris, Marcus B and Vicki W completed the judging line up. All of the judging took place in secrecy, which kept the contestants on their toes, and then the verdict was in!

Alex W was crowned the winner of ‘best cake’ with his delicious chocolate orange fudge cake. Suzanne was awarded ‘best biscuits’ with her yummy shortbread, chocolate and ginger biscuits. Greg’s tasty feta, herb and caramelised shallot scones were given ‘best savoury bake’ and Stefi wowed the judges with her chocolate Guinness cake and was crowned ‘Star Baker 2018!’ Congratulations to all of our winners for all their efforts!

After the judging was over and the winners announced, all bakes were then put on sale in the office, there was even a queue as people were that eager to taste the entries! A big thank you to everyone that baked and donated and special thanks to our brilliant judges!

We raised a terrific amount of £80 for Chestnut Tree House which is such an amazing cause. They are the only children's hospice for Sussex and South East Hampshire and care for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age. It currently costs well over £3.5m each year to provide all the care services provided by Chestnut Tree House and they rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
