Ian Woodland, Head of Business Services
Ian Woodland oversees the office based infrastructure teams to ensure they support the Customer Sales and Service department to exceed their customer’s expectations.
“I want our company to set the benchmark for providing exceptional customer service. Our Customer Sales and Service team can only achieve this with the support of our office based infrastructure teams. My team members may never meet the customer in person, but I know they can make a big difference to how the customer perceives our company. Whether they work in IS, Customer Reports, Customer Support, Marketing, Business Support or our Laboratory, I know they share my passion for getting customer service right, first time, every time”.
Ian qualified as a Chemist and after working in the food research and power research industries, joined the Environmental Health team at Elmbridge Borough Council. It was while walking the streets of Walton-on-Thames, resolving neighbourhood complaints, licensing polluting premises, making workplaces safer and inspecting food premises to ensure they were safe and hygienic that he realised that a career as an Environmental Health Consultant would always provide the variety of interest he was looking for.
In 1995, he joined Assurity Consulting as a consultant. Ian was recognised for his organisational skills and his focus on customer service, so he started picking up responsibility for internal projects. This eventually led to him becoming the IS Manager, followed by Business Support Manager, Head of Business Support and to his current role as Head of Business Services.
Since joining the Executive team Ian has focused his efforts on raising the company’s profile in the local community. He is a regular attendee at Cadia, the Gatwick Diamond Business Association, he has built relationships with local schools and he has been the driving force behind our Corporate Responsibility programme. In 2009, the Springboard Project presented Ian with the Special Recognition Award for Significant Individual Contribution.
The Springboard Project is a Horsham based children’s centre that have received both financial and other support from Assurity Consulting.
