SELEX Systems Integration raises the bar in health and safety management with Assurity Consulting

SELEX Systems Integration Ltd (SSI), is the UK subsidiary of Finmeccanica company SELEX Sistemi Integrati. SSI design and develop large systems for Homeland Protection, systems and radar sensors for air defence, battlefield management, naval warfare, coastal and maritime surveillance, air traffic control and turn-key airport solutions. The company employs around 4,500 people globally. Their fifty years of experience in systems integration has created a customer base in around 150 countries.

Selex Systems Integration Ltd were looking to improve the way they reviewed and monitored their health and safety performance. They needed to raise health and safety awareness among employees at all levels and improve reporting on health and safety matters. They also needed to engage the executive management team in this process to help promote a better health and safety culture and personal accountability across all of their employees.

Assurity Consulting carried out an initial health and safety management review that provided feedback on the current position and identified where improvements could be made. The review clearly identified key areas for the business to focus on. Additional support services included; health and safety awareness training at all levels of management, health and safety assessments at all regional sites and an update of existing health and safety policies.

The whole process was underpinned with the robustness of the on-line compliance management solution - Assurity Plus. Assurity Plus helps the facilities teams to focus on managing and monitoring health and safety compliance efficiently and with greater transparency. This initiative has full buy-in from senior management and at board level.
